Indoor Recess showcased the culminating thesis projects of 14 Williams Studio Arts majors. The exhibition’s title and visual identity drew inspiration from the playfulness of the cohort’s shared studio space. The logotype was hand-drawn directly onto the gallery wall in graphite pencil, emphasizing the wall’s texture and reflecting the malleability of the studio environment. Graphite, often associated with an artist’s first marks, symbolized the cohort’s transition from student work to professional practice.
